What we collect, and what we do with it

Who we are

bitcoinpoker.net is the data controller for everything described here. For anything in this notice — including a request to be told who operates the site — write to sweepstakes@bitcoinpoker.net.

If you enter the giveaway

We store, for each entry:

• the email address you gave us;
• the site you chose and your username on it;
• whether you consented to your username being published;
• the time of the entry;
• a salted SHA-256 digest of your IP address — not the address itself, and not reversible back to it;
• a truncated browser user-agent string.

We use this to run the draw, to stop one person entering many times, and to contact you if you win. That is all. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a fair promotion and, for the email itself, performing the promotion you asked to take part in.

How long. Entry records are kept while they are needed to demonstrate that past draws were run correctly — the published results depend on the entry list behind them — and then deleted. Ask us and we will tell you exactly what we hold on you.

Free entries by email. If you enter by writing to sweepstakesentry@bitcoinpoker.net, we keep that message as the record of your entry. We read it and record the address and the site you named.

Analytics

We count page views two ways. Umami we run ourselves on our own server; it is served from this domain, sets no advertising cookies, does not build a profile of you and does not follow you to other sites. We also use Google Analytics, which is a third-party service: it sets its own cookies and Google processes that data under its own terms. Both tell us which pages are worth writing.

We record an affiliate_click event when you follow a link to a gambling site, carrying the operator name, where on the page you clicked, and the page you were on. It does not carry anything that identifies you.

Links to gambling sites

Links to Duel, SwC Poker and other operators are affiliate links: if you register through one, we may earn a commission. Following such a link takes you to a site we do not control, with its own privacy policy and its own terms. What that site collects about you is between you and them, and we never receive your account credentials or your balance.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or the EEA, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict our use of it, and to receive a copy in a portable form. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

Ask at sweepstakes@bitcoinpoker.net. We will respond within one month. Erasing an entry before a draw removes it from that draw.

Changes

If this notice changes, the new version is posted here with a new effective date.
